End of tenancy cleaning has one purpose: the property passes the check-out inspection and the deposit comes back. It is judged by somebody else — a letting agent, a landlord or an inventory clerk with a checklist — which makes it a very different job from a deep clean of a home you are staying in.
The property is cleaned empty, so everything is accessible. Kitchen units are cleaned inside and out, including the tops of the units and behind the doors. The oven, hob, extractor, racks and trays are degreased. Bathrooms are descaled and sanitised throughout, including the shower screen, seals and behind the taps. Every room is dusted top to bottom, with skirting boards, doors, frames, switches, sockets and interior windows, sills and reveals done, cobwebs cleared, and floors vacuumed and mopped or hard-floor cleaned.
